Urban Water Cycle
The central San Joaquin Valley is classified as a semi‑arid desert; it only receives an average of 11.5 inches of rainfall each year. The primary source of water for the Valley is groundwater! When rains come the stormwater runoff is captured in basins where it recharges (helps replace) the groundwater. The poster features local landmarks like the Sierras, the San Joaquin River and downtown Fresno to help explain the water cycle.
This poster is 36″ x 48″ and is offered in a flat format or a pre-folded 8 1/2″ x 11″ for easy storage. Please order only one per classroom.
